I have just decided to start this blog about the workshops we hold here at the farm. Sandra and I have been doing this for three years or so now, and probably should have started a blog ages ago - but, here goes!
Yesterday we had a very quiet, but busy Pitch and Stitch session from 10.00am to 1.00pm. Jackie brought along her beautiful 'Drying in the Breeze' Clare Kingslake hanging she is working on. She looked very professional with her quilting equipment which included a light and magnifying glass and although we teased her about it, it is obviously worth it because her quilting is so neat. Sandra worked on her funky 'handbag' doorstops which she will be selling at Uffington Show at the end of August - we all want to buy one! Betty started putting together her Japanese Patches (started at our workshop last month) to make a bag for vegetables, and Dawn continued knitting her second woolly hat! Sandra was knitting too - she's started a cardigan and was also working on the characters she's making for her son's wedding cake - and I started quilting the background for the Naive Flowers hanging we made at a workshop the other week. I loved that workshop - we pieced the backing in the morning, then started the six mini-quilts to go on it in the afternoon, so you felt you'd really achieved a lot by the end of the day and it was worth carrying on with it (in other words, it didn't stay in a bag in the corner!) - I have worked on it ever since!
Tomorrow we are on part 3 of the Medallion Quilt course, so I'd better get on with part 2 now.......
